I have come across a few great links while searching for answers to the question of dysbiosis:
Curezone - a great site with extremely supportive message boards. If you need to go somewhere and talk about anything candida related (or general health related), this is the site I would recommend most.
Karen Tripp, Recovery From Candida - Karen's site has touched the hearts of many (including me!) And is the one site that I continually go back to if I'm feeling frustrated. She actually CURED her dysbiosis. I find that that news alone gives me so much hope.
Karen Tripp's Online Guestbook - here is an online guestbook that has been posted to by many others who have followed the same plan she did and CURED their candida! Again, this is another great spot that I like to go to for encouragement.
Atkins.com - try searching for 'yeast' and 'candida'. There are some very interesting takes concerning the connection to carbs.
http://nourished.com.au/ - EXCELLENT website with tons of info on natural healing, parenting and treatments for disorders including dysbiosis. Definitely try and check this one out
Artificial Sweeteners AWESOME article on artificial sweeteners and their effects on the body. Personally, if I HAD to choose one, I'd choose Splenda (found in diet orange crush) or glycerin (marked as a safe sweetener for candida sufferers but, unfortunately, not to many products use it). By the way, I've read elsewhere that aspartame is almost HALF gluten. I am gluten-intolerent and, trust me, this info is true. I once drank a couple of cans of diet Dr Pepper (sweetened ONLY by aspartame) and had the same reaction I always get from gluten, a very flushed-red face.
The Weston A. Price Foundation for Wise Traditions - a natural health site with tons of info on healing. This site is interesting because it applies rather traditional health approaches to rather newer illnesses (including dysbiosis). Definitely worth checking out...
Traditional Nutrition Message Board - another great message board pointed out to me by Bee. You don't need a login to read the info and it appears that doctors visit their often so it's a GREAT place to educate yourself with informed opinions.
Candida Support Group By Bee - a Yahoo! support group established by Bee Wilder (a very kind person who has managed to cure her own candida and is now helping others). She knows ALOT about the illness - also check out her articles at http://nourished.com.au/ concerning health and healing candida. I think her definition of what candida ACTUALLY IS is the best description I've read so far (and I've read alot of descriptions!)
Chris Gupta's info on cabbage rejuvelac - Chris Gupta outlines the benefits of cabbage rejuvelac and in a related article (accessible by a link on the page), points out the importance of lactobacilli present on the cabbage to "crowd-out" yeasts. I was thankful to finally read an estimate of how many billions of helpful bacteria are actually in each serving of rejuvelac. Gupta says each serving contains "several billion".
Don't forget that for every informative candida site out there, there are at least 10 that seek only to exploit the suffering of others just to make a few bucks.
Other Links
Here's a few links that are not related to dysbiosis but I think are pretty neat. It's good to get your mind off of health issues once in a while:
Old Sierra Games - I confess! I am a super-geek. I love these old games!
