I thought I'd put a section in describing what I am going to be eating for the next month and a half while I try to eradicate this illness. I will be sticking to a very strict high protein diet. This means lots of chicken, beef, pork, lamb, fish (tuna, salmon, pollock, shrimp).
I will, however, be avoiding ham (contains sugar) and eggs (they have a few carbohydrates hiding in them). Unfortunately, I will not be eating many vegetables because I want to keep my carb count to a very basic minimum if at all possible. I will be having some romaine and iceberg lettuce each day, but not enough to equal more than 10 grams of carbohydrates. As well, each day I will be consuming olive oil with each meal and decaffinated tea occassionally. I hate to put my diet is such disproportion (so little vegetables) but I think that this serious measure will be much more effective than any other plan.
As well, I have opted to discontinue taking vitamins during my recovery period. Just to be safe - you never know where you might find yeast.
